A thoughtful and well-rounded brand concept is essential to any professional person or business. I believe in capturing a brand essence and ensuring that it reads strongly across all elements of the brand starting with a logo identity and extending to print media and digital presence.
Crafting unique and exciting user experiences is infinitely important on the web. I am passionate about the endless possibilities that digital design offers, and I am constantly learning and exploring new ways to create memorable web experiences. My design skills are complimented by my background in development and ability to execute my designs.
Communication can be amplified through beautiful letters and thoughtful typography. From font pairing to hand-drawn letterforms, I am inspired by the power and elegance of words. I love to take ordinary words and transform them into something memorable by hand-crafting a one-of-a-kind composition and style.
I use illustration to supplement my design and also just as a form of expression. I enjoy experimenting with different styles and techniques of artwork creature. I would call my style "adaptable."
During my time at ST8MNT I worked on a wide variety of projects including branding, logo design, poster design, web design, front end development, hand lettering, and illustration. I worked as part of a very collaborative small team which allowed me to grow as an individual and beyond.
Working for a publishing company taught me the wonders of InDesign and the print production process. I also got to work on my copywriting skills for a weekly and annual publications.
Working with the Registrar's Office was a true test of my User Experience skills. I was given the task of editing and updating the office's webpage to make it more organized, userfriendly, and enjoyable. Working with the University's CMS was a great experience for having an adaptable process flow.
Working with this nonprofit put my time managment skills to the test. In a few quick weeks I created a visual identity for an exhibit followed by about 30 panels of text, images, and timelines which included various three-dimensional elements. This project pushed me to explore the possibilities of size and space with large scale design.
Craft beer is a passion of mine, so working with this local brewery in Nashville was a dream come true. I was exposed to the many nuances of packing design and regulation. Collaborating with the brewery and a local tattoo artist for initial artwork provided a lesson in multi-client interaction.
Working with this small business from early on allowed me to be a big part of the entire process. A branding system was created, beginning with a logo. The color palette we chose impacted the entire interior design of the space, and textures used in early concepts carried across to print pieces, web and social media, and decor.
